POL is the staking and gas token of the Polygon network, carried over from MATIC as the chain reorganised around aggregated scaling. It trades on Ethereum layer two competition, throughput upgrades and how much value settles through Polygon rails. The perpetual is margined in USDC, has no expiry, and funding is exchanged periodically between longs and shorts.
